•Typography: Sans Serif font with rounded ends and in black( simple font and bold which fit in with the newspaper being liberal and for ‘progressives’.)
Formal and serious(associated quality’ newspapers.)
Mixture of bold and non bold fonts throughout to connote a combination of tradition and modernity.
•Body copy was written in a serif font(easy to read and traditional for newspapers)
•Colour: House colour linked to the brand -à Grey-blue.Different colours branded different sections.
Images: Uses full colour photography, which brings variety and visual interest. Most images are of politicians, celebrities and ordinary people. Some are close ups, most are mid or long shots to connote a news orientation.
Use of Language: Headlines are written in a journalistic style (newsy), but are formal. Skyboxesinformal tone, more personal and helpful.
Values: Liberal values: tolerance, fairness and progress through media language, which makes it mainstream.
It’s designed to connote that the newspaper is packed full

Codes and Conventions
Layout - Its symmetrical- easy for the reader to digest, It is ordered- more formal, use of Z technique
Typography - Mast head is bold (serif font) - bold and elegant to relect the style and tone, also reflective of the audience, sky box (draws reader, connotations of bolder better brighter in yellow). smaller font size is conventional to newspapers, simple fonts so people read it.
Language used - formal - adhere to target audience, mode of address - direct (to make reader feel inclusive as if it is talking directly to them)
Images - main image has nothing to do with article (political about theresa may), image is powerful to woman, singular shot, shows equality in each image (scott trust), attracts all different audiences, chefs included are very influential so the recipes will be fancy, appeals to target audience. (naturalist - target audience can relate) Nigella
Graphics and colour - Colour purple is equal and liberal. emphasis on the yellow words (connotes happiness and joyful values)

Instagram doesn't always have the same stories as the other three platforms (website Facebook and twitter). This is because instagrams following consists of younger people and being a different target audience than the other three, so the stories featured on instagram more aimed to interest those of that audience targeted.
