The Guardian and observers typical reader should be someone who has a positive attitude towards their career and someone who loves learning. It also targets all different types of people because they have a sports section for sports driven men who's of a middle class, a culture section for cultural consumers, hard news for a news hungry audience who enjoys politics and also women who like fashion, gardening and cooking.

On the observer homepage, the layout of the page looks clear and easy to access. For example, the tabs located at the top for different categories allows the different target audiences to access quickly their desired choice of read. The colour connoted with the lifestyle is pink which reflects the female audience that read the 'lifestyle' articles of the paper. The colour contrast of blue (at the top of the page) and pin reflects the liberal and equal values from the Scott's Trust.
